SKIN EFFECT
When
alternating current flowing through a conductor; it is always linked with a
flux. The flux linking is more in central portion of the conductor than at the
surface. This result in high current density at outer surface compared to inner
surface. Which result in increased resistance of the conductor.
So for high frequency transmission hollow cylinder is used as conductors.

Skin effect is more predominant at high frequencies

More for the conductor of magnetic materials
·
Dc has no skin effect
